What we don’t know always limits us.
Over the years, I have found this to be true. I would think about something a certain way or do something in a way that I thought was best and the results would be poor.
The story was then shared with someone who had much broader experience and every time they would recommend something new to be tried in a different way. What they said made sense. But I never knew that this was possible for the situation I faced.
Trying to figure out what you don’t know, so that you could learn, is a rare skill. We have all shared with others what we know. Why, we even share with others things we don’t know well, that border more on opinion than fact. Hearing our confident voices, closes our mind to the possibility of needing to learn something different to move forward in our lives.
This is the most compelling reason I am aware of
for always trying to learn something each day.
It’s different when life or others slow us down or stop us. We just need to try harder to not sabotage ourselves, by ignoring the strong possibility that what is limiting us is what we don’t know.
