Visiting with a family of a friend, I learned of the serious health struggles one of the brothers faced and successfully overcame. He shared with me his deep belief in positivity. Of always being positive and not be pulled down by negative thoughts.
He then looked at me and said “Positivity, BAM!” and gestured to me to give him a high five. It was an interesting feeling that got conveyed through the simple word bam that was shared with emphasis. When saying it with him (as an acknowledgment or affirmation of what he just said), I actually felt good.
Try it yourself after sharing a thought that made you feel good or brought you excitement with someone. BAM! (Remember to say it with emphasis.)
A few words of caution. Bam should not be used within the context of aggression. Bam used to “get even” doesn’t work. Bam should only be used as an emphasis to help convey the feeling of excitement and energy.
BAM! There you have it. Now go out and make your day great!
