Moving into a different office was challenging. Close to my other one that I was in for nearly 10 years. Over time, you know the story. We accumulate things. Too lazy to go through them regularly.
Then the move happens. My office turned into boxes. Needing my eyes and hands to touch everything that I have gathered over the many years.
Spreadsheets once important now have no meaning. Letters written 5 years ago have lost their passion. Books once important now have lost my interest.
Reminding me of the importance we impute to everything we do now. And how everything we do today is temporary. Everything will pass with time. Our interest in what grabs our attention will change.
There is much to throw out. Very little to keep. Old papers thrust us into a time machine. One that connects the past to today. Discovering how few things are truly important over the many years.
