I can’t do this. Not today. Maybe tomorrow. It’s on my to do list. I will get to it. Someday, I would like to…… I know we need to do this. Maybe. Too busy. Not now. And so on……
Pushing through is a simple concept that we generally avoid. Deadlines force us to push through. Short of deadlines, we are never taught the skill of pushing through.
What I recently discovered, pushing through is the quickest route to completion as well as moving forward. Making your bed or washing your dishes NOW can be liberating. Finishing your sales presentation or writing the report NOW helps you get more things done in your day.
Pushing through is never a question of endurance. Pushing through is the solution to a problem of focus. Our flood of distractions in our day, makes it easy for us to put things off. Focusing on completing one thing seems too distant & foreign.
Plans and dreams are comfortable and seductive. Things will be better tomorrow is an empty promise when we don’t push through to finish something. Whether it is the first step or a common step we have done for years, pushing through is always the key ingredient to getting things done.
