One of the greatest temptations we face is when we believe that something is simple. Simple to do. Simple to accomplish. Simple to obtain.
Temptations, in general, become a seductive friend that promises delight, experience, and great happiness. Temptations never demand much from us. We easily succumb to them, at times, no matter how hard we try to avoid them. Our chocolate. Our ice cream. Our clandestine friendships. The list is large.
Believing that something is simple to do is life’s greatest temptation and ultimate deception. Simplicity degrades quickly because of our imperfections, time, effort, and the ability to sustain that which appears, at the start, to be so simple.
We know much when we think something is simple and know so little as we try to do what we thought was simple. Our journey becomes confusing as it unfolds.
Don’t get discouraged. Just understand it’s part of life.
