The morning after a big event such as our national and state elections, some begin their day joyous while others begin their day disappointed.
Just think of the hours of debate you have had with friends as to how one person running for office would change your life and the direction of the country.
Yet as you wake up and go through your day, take notice of what really has changed and you will find that very little has changed.
It affirms what we should deeply believe that we alone are responsible for the direction of our life by the choices we make. The stories crafted over an election season seduce us into believing that someone else will help us get to our dreams.
The story that needs to be told more often is that it can only be done with our own hard work.
