You know the famous phrase “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
Why is it so hard for us to remember?
When we get angry at others?
Impatient with others?
Rude to others?
When we ignore others?
When we can’t forgive?
Make others feel small or unwanted?
When we laugh at others hardships?
When we don’t take the time to listen?
When we choose not to be present?
When we stereotype?
When we insist without first understanding?
When we pick ourselves at all costs?
When we forget to give more than we get when in love?
When we give up on others at a time when they need us most?
When we don’t go out of our way to help?
When we forget to practice what we say we believe?
When we take others for granted?
When we don’t consider other people’s feelings or interests?
This list is endless. It is both sad to say and hopeful in that there are so many opportunities each day for us to make things better.
